An Analysis of Assessment Methods of the Ideological and Political Theory Course in Colleges

Abstract:

Assessment method is both a curriculum evaluation and feedback of the teaching effects. The status and function of ideological and political course is particularly important, which is a compulsory course for college students, shouldering the main role of the ideological and political education. But at present there exist some problems in the evaluation of this course, such as illogical methods, non-standardized process, non-scientific results. We hold it necessary to reform and innovate the traditional assessment methods into diversified composite evaluation methods by combining the teaching objective of ideological and political theory course with class-teaching practice, by combining the specific examination questions with college students’ actual results of learning, and by combining the specific evaluation method with the realistic nature of ideological and political theory course. And then we can gradually form a diversified evaluation method under the new situation, which accords with the actual situation of college students. In doing so, we can rectify the present embarrassing situation of the teaching of ideological and political theory course, improve the class-teaching attraction, and further strengthen teaching effects of ideological and political theory course.
